Dicky Pillay
Director
In a distinguished 43-year career within the insurance sector, Dicky emerges as a paragon of expertise, traversing realms encompassing insurers, UMAs, and broking. His educational odyssey, commencing in 1978 with Matric, has unfolded into a tapestry of illustrious qualifications from Milpark, UCT, Oxford, and Moonstone (RE 1 and RE 5). Holding the mantle of Chair for the FIA Transformation Committee for three years and subsequently serving as Ex Chairperson from 2021 to 2023, Dicky has left an indelible mark on industry leadership. His educational laurels include a Certificate of Proficiency (1997), Higher Certificate in Insurance (2013), and certifications in Management Development (UCT, 2003), and Strategy and Innovation (Oxford, 2015). A consummate professional, he seamlessly fuses a profound industry background with an unwavering commitment to continuous educational growth, emblematic of a tireless dedication to excellence within the dynamic and ever-evolving landscape of the insurance sector.
Mariette Slippens
Director
Mariette, an accomplished short-term insurance professional, brings 39 years of extensive experience. Her qualifications include a 1997 Certificate of Proficiency (IISA), Short Term II in 2000, Management Practice in 2004 (Louis Allen S.A), and a 2004 Commercial Lines NQF4 from Damelin. Further, she gained NQF 4 and NQF 5 credentials in 2007 and 2008 from the Prior Learning Centre and UNISA. In 2011, Mariette obtained RE 5 Representative and RE 1 Key Individual certifications from the Financial Planning Institute (FPI). In 2015, she completed NQF 6, earning a Diploma in Advanced Insurance Practice from UNISA. With vast experience, Mariette excels in crafting programs aligned with clients’ risk appetites. Beyond her professional pursuits, she finds joy in nature, indulging in birding, and exploring diverse biomes. Mariette’s passion for technical problem-solving and appreciation for diverse perspectives define her meticulous approach to delivering tailored insurance solutions.
